Karl was born in Washington, DC and has been djing for about 10 years.He is noted as one of DC's most talented djs for his excellent mixing skills and keen music programming along with his creative style of tribal house, progressive trance and future breaks.Not limiting his realm of music and style, he spins at various events including nightclubs, electronica events and circuit parties.Karl was the rotating resident dj at Cobalt on Saturday Nights and former resident dj from VelvetNation, Platinum, Zei Club, Club 5, Tracks 2000, The Edge and The Vault.In his native DC he's also worked as event promoter, marketing director and lighting and sound technician.
Karl worked in the studio on his original tracks and remixes for a new UK label.He was to be the labels first US artist.His list of remixes for 2003 include Groove Armada's "I See You Baby 2003" (Karl Matthews Hard Groove Mix), Sasha's "Wavy Gravy" (Karl Matthews Kinetic Journey Mix) & Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" (Karl Matthews Energized Short Remix).Karl says some of his biggest influences have been Peter Rauhofer, David Morales, Victor Calderone, Hex Hector, Ralphie Rosario, Deepsky, BT, Above & Beyond, Hybrid, Uberzone & Armand Van Helden.
